Leaf vehicles go vroom

Electric vehicles don’t really make noises…and while some car makers advocate that their cars are quiet on the road, there’s quiet and then there’s noiseless.

Nissan has decided to add sound to their new line of electric vehicles – Leaf (would multiple cars be called Leaves?), which I definitely think is important.

What a cool job, huh? To be the one that decides what the car will sound like in motion? Well, this is what the person with the cool job decided on. Can’t say that I’m totally enjoying the space-age-y sounds…

Toyota and Tesla may be on a break

Exactly 1 week ago, Toyota and Tesla (electric car maker) announced that they were joining forces. But today, they say that nothing formal has been decided.

Why would either company make such an exciting announcement, let it marinate for an entire week, then retract the statement? It doesn’t really make so much sense…

The sky is falling, globally…

The current state of the world economy is succinctly defined in NYU professor, Nouriel Roubini’s statement: “…[A] ‘trillion’ has become the new normal.”

Let’s just hope that the people we elected into power, can steer the boat out of further storms that are stirring up ahead. Or at the very least, sail through without too much damage.

If this doesn’t make you want to quit smoking…you’re a lost case

Scientists in China have identified 9 different chemicals in cigarette butts that apparently protect steel pipes (specifically oil pipes) from rusting.

Next time you take a smoking break at work, try to imagine an offshore oil rig. Before reading this, you probably would have thought, who cares about an oil rig? But after reading this article, you will see the significance.

Who would’ve thunk that YOU (the smoker) and an oil rig, had so much in common?

Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, doesn’t it?
